What is ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis is a scientific approach to understanding human behavior and its environmental influences. Behavior analysts study reactions, responses, communication and other patterns as well as a child’s environment to identify the basis of problematic behaviors. Using researched and evidence-based methods, we work to decrease maladaptive behaviors that interfere with a child’s everyday life such as tantrums, aggression, self-injury, and repetitive behavior while focusing on the development of constructive behaviors such as improved cognitive skills, positive reactions, improved ways of communicating and socially healthy responses. This form of therapy is proven to be greatly effective at helping children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Syndrome.

In-Home ABA Therapy

An experienced team of ABA therapists will be assigned to work with your child in the comfort of your own home via a series of ABA Therapy sessions. The BCBA will formulate a specialized care plan for your child and will coordinate a therapy schedule that is convenient for your family. They will then build a team of qualified therapists to implement the care plan during these home sessions. All 1:1 sessions will be closely monitored and guided by your assigned BCBA.

Insurance Coverage & Benefits Authorizations

We want you and your child to be 100% focused on development, learning, and growth. Therefore, we will handle all correspondence with your insurance provider. We communicate any resources that may be available to you and your child, the status of your insurance coverage, and if there are any additional costs involved. For your convenience, we are in network with more insurance companies.

Parent & Caregiver Training

Our in-home therapy is not complete without the participation of the child’s family and support system. Implementing our behavior plan is much more effective when the caregivers can understand and help reinforce the ABA methods and principles. For this reason, we invite parents, family, and at-home caregivers to be part of the ABA therapy sessions. We also offer separate educational sessions with the parents themselves.

Intake

Our services begin with an intake consultation with a member of our team. This is a time where families are able to discuss primary areas of concern and determine if we can meet their needs.

Benefit Checks

Our team will determine eligibility for services and navigate the insurance process for you. You will be asked to fill out an application, provide proof of medical diagnosis of Autism spectrum disorder, provide a prescription for ABA Therapy services, and provide proof of insurance.

Assessment

The next step is to assess your child’s skill level, which is necessary to guide the development of an individualized Autism treatment plan. The assessment will be conducted by a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and will include the use of various assessment tools.

Therapy

Through assessment in everyday situations, behaviors are targeted and a detailed therapy plan is developed. Throughout the treatment, data is recorded and analyzed in order to show progress of meaningful change and to evaluate and modify treatment for the most significant outcomes.
